Who we are
Mitre 10 Park is managed by two key trusts: the Hawke’s Bay Regional Sports Park Trust and the Hawke’s Bay Community Fitness Centre Trust - each overseeing different aspects of the facility.
The Hawke’s Bay Regional Sports Park Trust is responsible for the overall development and operation of Mitre 10 Park, which spans approximately 30 hectares. Established in 2007 following the sale of Nelson Park in Hastings, the trust focuses on delivering a wide range of sports and recreational facilities, including an athletics track, netball courts, an olympic-grade hockey turf, canoe polo facility and multiple sports fields. Governance is provided by a board of trustees appointed by the Regional Sports Park Trust Appointments and Advisory Panel, with the Hastings District Council providing significant funding and support.
The Hawke’s Bay Community Fitness Centre Trust manages several high-performance and community-focused facilities within the park. These include the Hawke’s Bay Regional Aquatic Centre, Royston Health and Fitness Centre, the Hawke’s Bay High Performance Training and Wellness Centre, and Sir Graeme S. Avery House - a 60-bed accommodation facility for athletes and visiting groups.
Together, both trusts collaborate to provide a comprehensive suite of sports and recreation facilities, serving not only the Hawke’s Bay region but also athletes and visitors nationally and internationally.

Graeme Taylor (Chair)
Graeme is an experienced community leader and businessman. He is currently Chair of the Trust and Sport Hawke’s Bay and is a Napier City Councilor. A former representative rugby player and coach, Graeme also has extensive governance, event management and sport administration experience across multiple codes.

Alwyn Corban
Alwyn is an experienced Director, Manager and Winemaker. He is currently a Hastings District Councilor, Winemaker at AC Wines, Trustee of Napier Pilot City Trust, Napier/Ahuriri Homeless Shelter Society and Waipureku Waitangi Trust. Alwyn grew up playing Hockey, Squash and Rowing.

Henry Heke
Henry is General Manager of Health Hawke’s Bay, a CrossFit gym owner, and a Hastings District Councilor. Henry has a strong background in rugby league as a player, administrator and coach and is committed to promoting health, fitness and community sport.

Thompson Hokianga
Thompson is a Hawke’s Bay Regional Councilor and experienced Director with a strong record of community leadership and governance. He is passionate about Māori community development and youth sport, championing grassroots initiatives and cultural inclusion.

Ryan Hambleton
Ryan is Chief Executive of Sport Hawke’s Bay. He has significant sports governance experience, including with Hawke’s Bay Basketball. Ryan is passionate about community sports, plays rugby and enjoys participating in running and triathlon events.

Lance Hamilton
Lance is Chief Executive of Central Districts Cricket, overseeing the growth and delivery of the game across the region. A former Black Cap and Central Stags representative fast bowler, he combines extensive experience in cricket administration, coaching, and high-performance management with a passion for developing sport at all levels.

Andi Leydesdorff
Andrea (Andi) is General Manager of Hawke’s Bay Hockey, leading the sport’s development, competitions, and community programmes across the region. She brings experience in sports governance, administration and event delivery, and is passionate about fostering participation and pathways for players of all ages.
