Mitre 10 Park is set to welcome the Y Outdoor Adventure Hub in 2026, delivered in partnership with the Y Hawke’s Bay (formerly YMCA).
This dedicated space will give tamariki and rangatahi the opportunity to take part in fun, safe, and engaging outdoor education experiences in the heart of Hawke’s Bay.
With over 150 years of youth development experience, the hub will provide schools and community groups with a one-stop destination for high-quality outdoor adventure activities, including:
Rock Climbing
Kayaking
Rafting
Archery (soft)
Orienteering
Team-building challenges
Programmes will initially focus on primary and intermediate school groups, supporting confidence, teamwork, resilience, and a love of the outdoors, with opportunities to grow over time.
As a local not-for-profit, the Y Hawke’s Bay is committed to making outdoor education accessible and works closely with schools to reduce barriers to participation.
