In 2019, a landmark sponsorship agreement was established with the Ricketts family, owners of the Napier and Hastings Mitre 10 stores. As part of the deal, they secured naming rights to the park, which was officially renamed Mitre 10 Park. The partnership was considered a natural fit, given the Ricketts family's long-standing presence in the Hawke’s Bay business community since 1961, with Mitre 10 being a trusted brand in the region for over four decades.

Today, the Hawke’s Bay Regional Sports Park stands as a $25 million investment in sport and recreation, primarily funded by the Hastings District Council. Corporate sponsors - including Mitre 10, PAK’nSAVE Hastings, and Higgins have also played an essential role in the park’s growth and continued development.
